A little about Magpie Designed...
I started Magpie Designed in 2011, working on small projects here and there. My twin boys were a year old and I was looking for a creative outlet. Since, I've been fortunate to work with so many amazing clients - couples and business owners alike. I enjoy the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects - from wedding stationery to advertising and branding for small businesses to designing websites that showcase my clients' work.
I strive to offer personalized design on all of my projects - from incorporating a tattoo design into a Save-the-Date to utilizing the same florals as the wedding bouquet to being able to capture a business owner's personality in their branding. Being able to work on an individual level with each client is my favorite aspect of what I do.
I would love to have the opportunity to create something amazing for you!
A little about Maggie...
Why do I love what I do?
I get to be both creative and analytical. I enjoy the aesthetic aspects as much as the problem solving aspects of design. Getting to help people with the most important events of their lives is a pretty awesome thing, too. I find that the same emotions and anticipation are present whether you're planning a wedding or building your small business. Both are deeply important and personal. It's an honor to be a part of that.
I was once asked in an job interview, "What's your biggest weakness?" and answered, "French fries." Probably not the answer they were expecting, but I did get the job and was later told that answer was one of the reasons. I am a self-proclaimed potato connoisseur. I also love Italian food and BBQ.
My local coffee shop, Groundhouse Coffee, has an incredible drink called the Euphoria. You should all try it!
Favorite Netflix Binge
Most recently, Santa Clarita Diet. So creepy and funny! And I can't wait for season 2 of Stranger Things.
Perfect weekend activities
A trip to the Nelson-Atkins or visiting the West Bottoms for some shopping. Trying a new restaurant and cocktail. Taking the kids out to explore and play.
I'm proud to be a Pittsburg State University Gorilla; where I studied Journalism and Graphic Design.
